he important insect pests of Sievers Apple trees (Malus sieversii) in Kazakhstan
Abstracthe article is devoted to the problems of preserving of Sievers Apple trees (Malus sieversii) in Kazakhstan. Wild apple-tree is one of the main forest-forming species in the mountain landscapes of thesouth and southeast of Kazakhstan. Sievers apple is of special interest for domestic and foreign scientists,since it has a special value, the natural plantings of Sievers apple have no analogues in the world plantcommunity. They are now recognized as having global significance as the world’s only natural geneticbasis for maintaining and developing the apple tree culture. Unfortunately, over the past half century thenumber of this species has dramatically decreased, so the importance of apple forests requires strengthening their protection and developing a system of measures to protect against threats. One of the mainthreats for this species is now insect pests, which cause huge damage to these forests. In this regard, thearticle provides a brief overview of the most important and dominant species among insect pests thatmultiply in mass and cause significant economic damage. The article gives an assessment of the currentstate of the wild apple tree and analyzed the distribution territories. It also examines the level of study ofwild apple trees and threats that affect the decline of populations of this species of apple.Key words: Sievers Apple tree, insect pests, Zailiysky Alatau, Zhongar Alatau.
