Abstract

Long-term variability of quantitative indices of a phytoplankton, zooplankton and macrozoobenthos of Balkhash Lake in various degree depends on fluctuation of global climatic indexes (Global dT, NAO, ALPI). The connection with the Global dT having a linear raising trend, and with the NAO and ALPI indexes changing cyclically, reflect dual nature of variability of analyzed indicators. By mainly biotic interactions are explained sharp increase in macrozoobenthos biomass in the last decades and simultaneous sharp reduction of phytoplankton biomass. Influence of global climatic indexes on interannual variability of biotic communities of the Balkhash Lake happens through changes of regional abiotic factors.
