Abstract

The research focuses on the identification of desirable gene’s alleles responsible for milk quality and milk production. DNA was extracted from 20 blood samples of 20 Holstein (“Sayram” local ecotype) for identification and genotyping of kappa-casein, prolactin, somatotropin, and thyroglobulin genes by PCR-RFLP. The frequency of desirable genes and alleles was calculated. According to the previous studies BB genotype of kappa-casein gene, GG genotype of prolactin gene, VV genotype of growth hormone gene, and TT genotype of thyroglobulin’s gene are important factors in increasing milk yield and quality and the results of this study could be used in creating the next generation of valuable animals.
