Abstract

The study of the frequency of chromosome aberrations and micronuclei in lymphocytes of people, professionally contacting with radioactive probes was conducted. It was shown that the frequency of chromosomal abnormalities in humans exposed to background samples (2,62±0,29%) was significantly higher than that of control groups of people - the village Tausugur (0,87±0,1%) (p≤0 01), Almaty (1,6±0,12%) (p≤0,01). Cytogenetic analysis of people who deal with the active samples (4,94±0,28%), revealed nearly 2-fold increased frequency of chromosome aberrations compared to people who deal with the baseline samples (p≤0,01). The frequency of micronuclei in the group of professionals was 0,387 ± 0,055% and the same frequency in control group was 0,31±0,032% (p≥0,1).The correlation analysis between the chromosomal abnormalities frequency and radiation dose per year showed no association between these factors.
